Our Story

Katherine Huyen and Ben Khuu are the husband-and-wife team that owns and operates KATT Medical Products. Each was born in the countryside of southern Vietnam, and their families were both forced to leave during the fallout of the Vietnam War. They met when Ben moved to Michigan from California, and after marrying, they started several successful businesses while raising their three children. As their family grew, Katherine and Ben wanted to reconnect with their roots and contribute to the country that shaped their early lives. Driven by this passion, in 2006, they began to source textile products from Vietnam for healthcare applications. Ben’s family was in the apparel business in Los Angeles and had experience running cut-and-sew operations. Their extended family in Vietnam helped connect with local suppliers.

This vision led to their founding of KATT Medical Products and constructing a purpose-built factory in Ho Chi Minh City for dyeing, knitting, and sewing textile products. Katherine and Ben are proud of the jobs they have helped to create, which have provided a stable income and safe working environment for over 250 local families.

Giving Back

KATT Medical Products is deeply committed to giving back. We purchase and distribute food, clothing and school supplies to our hometown community in Vietnam. Additionally, we actively participate in environmental conservation efforts by operating and preserving local farms in the countryside. We also donate products in the U.S. and Vietnam to needy organizations, including facemasks during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our mission is not only to succeed as a business but also to leave a lasting positive impact on the lives of those around us.
